Maya Tamang is an upcoming Nepalese British fashion and Textile (print) designer. She launched her first collection "Enlightenment" in May 2012 at University of West London in London, United Kingdom. Tamang was born in Kathmandu but raised in England. After finishing her A level from Malmesbury school she wanted to pursue her career in fashion and textile industry. During her time in university, Tamang has also assisted various fashion shows in London and Nepal.
Tamang's vision for her label is to create clothes that are both luxurious and wearable, with a feminine but unfussy beauty about them. She would prefer her touch to be sophisticated: modern but never cold, fantastical but always rational.
Furthermore, she wants her work to be skillful , combination of refinement and sensuality with use of exceptional fabrics and highly perfected details. Finally her long term vision is to focus more on modern luxury and uncompromised quality.
